This koi fish print reproduces a classic Japanese woodblock-style painting, showing two orange koi and a black-and-cream carp gliding beneath water lilies on a soft turquoise pond. In the style of Ohara Koson, one of Japan's most celebrated shin-hanga artists, it's a lovely find for anyone searching for a traditional Japanese koi print with real artistic pedigree.
Koson was known for his exquisite studies of birds and fish, and this piece captures his gift for quiet, natural movement, the koi seem to drift rather than swim, caught in a single peaceful moment. Koi are widely seen as symbols of good fortune, perseverance and calm, making this piece a favourite for anyone drawn to Japanese art wall decor with genuine meaning behind it.
This print makes a thoughtful housewarming gift, a meaningful birthday gift for someone who appreciates Japanese art or koi symbolism, or a calming addition to a study, meditation space or living room. Fans of traditional Japanese woodblock prints and koi enthusiasts alike will enjoy having this classic piece on their wall.
