This Oscar Wilde quote print features one of his sharpest observations on individuality: “Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” Taken from De Profundis, Wilde reflects on how easily we can adopt the ideas, habits, and desires of those around us without stopping to consider what is truly our own.
Simple and understated, the typography keeps Wilde’s words at the centre of the design, giving this literary wall art a quietly confident feel. It would suit a home library, reading nook, study, office, or contemporary living space, particularly for anyone who enjoys Oscar Wilde, classic literature, witty observations, and thought-provoking quotes about individuality and identity.
A great gift for book lovers, writers, literature students, teachers, or anyone with a slightly independent streak and an appreciation for Wilde’s wit. This Oscar Wilde print would make a thoughtful birthday, graduation, housewarming, or Christmas gift, or simply a fitting piece of decor for someone who prefers to think for themselves.
